For my photojournalism class I had to take a human interest feature photograph. These pictures are one of a kind moments that are familiar, odd, and humorous. Feature pictures offer a pleasant break from news that is often negative and tragic. The pictures below are my attempt at a human interest photo. I did ok. I need to improve on this aspect of my photography. This was easily the most difficult photo assignment I have had to date. I learned that feature photographs require patience and a little bit of luck. My professor stated in our syllabus that in order to get a good human interest photograph we must, "think like a hunter. Keenly aware and observant, knowledgeable on matters of basic human nature, quiet and unassuming, and technically competent to capture quick and fleeting moments." This requires practice and is something that I need to work on as I continue to pursue my education in photojournalism.

Most people own cats and dogs, but for those looking for a pet that’s out of the ordinary a donkey could be the answer. El Compadre ranch in Baja California, Mexico breeds and sells donkeys for as little as 300 U.S. dollars. “Some people buy them for farm work, but a lot of people have been buying them for pets lately,” said an El Compadre Ranch worker.
